About Yourself:
Former U.S. Marine Combat photojournalist. I'm now a wedding photographer. I had fish tanks growing up, but never paid much attention to them. This is my first planted tank and I love paying attention to the details, checking water, etc. I have a smaller tank for the kids, with Sponge Bob's house in it, among other decorations. But this tank is daddy's!
Fish Kept:
(2) Bolivian Rams
(6) White tip tetras
(11) Neon Tetras
(1) Bristlenose Pleco
(2) Otto Cats
(3) Cory Cats
(1) Mystery snail
Corals/Plants:
Onion plants.
Java fern.
Spiralis.
Anubias Nana.
Driftwood
Tank Size:
37 gallons
Advice:
Make sure you complete the cycle before adding your first fish! It will solidify your chances of having a healthy tank going forward. I do 50% water changes weekly. This keeps the water fresh. (Hence the name "freshwater fish") :)

Advice:
Do your research, start with a tank of decent size so you have a margin of error on the chemistry. Get an oversized filter and use only mechanical and biological filter media (no carbon or ammonia removers). Use a plant substrate for the tank and plant heavily from the start. Use CO2 injection, whether homemade or compressed tank. make sure you have enough light, a single bulb is not enough. Research your fish choices to ensure they will get along, not outgrow your tank and don't require special water conditions. Establish and follow a consistent schedule of water changes and fertilizer dosing. Keep notes on what you do and how well it works. You will be rewarded.

About Yourself:
My name is Dan Robbins. I am a college student from Wales Uk.
I have been keeping cichlids for many years and work in Maidenhead aquatics.
I am an author, currently writing a book on South American cichlds.
I have kept an bred a wide range of cichlids including the reasonably rare Arhocentrus Centrarchus or Flier cichlid.
I try to decorate my tank in the most natural way possible and belelive strongly any fish keeper
should do the same. Not only does it have a truely
stunning visual appeal but is beneficial for the fish
being kept.
Fish Kept:
American cichlids.
Corals/Plants:
Plants from the Central to Southern reaches on America.
Tank Size:
150 gallons
